4 Things to Know This Week at Celebration

1. LoveINC Beach Birthday Bash! – Saturday, Sept. 9, 10:00AM-3:00PM at Kruse Park.  It’s LoveINC’s 35th birthday and they’re having a Beach Birthday Bash!  There will be games and prizes, line dancing class (10-11), face painting , DJ (10-1), raffles (all day) special live music (1-3), and much more!  Lunch is served from 11:00 – 1:00 (tickets for lunch $25 family, $10 adults, $5 kids 3-12, 2 & under free). Tickets are available prior to the event at the Love INC office or on the day of the event.  It’s a day packed with fun for the whole family!  Help celebrate one of our local ministries!

2. Student Ministry Kick-Off Luncheon, September 10, Noon – Calling all students and their parents!  Meet in the Fireside Room after church on September 10 after worship for lunch and talk about the upcoming year for our students.  This is an exciting time to be at Celebration! God has big plans for our students and we look to help them find it.

Global Focus: EL SALVADOR

  • Pray for evangelicals to maintain their spiritual fervor, cultivating a passion for reaching the lost and discipling others for service.
  • Pray for healing and reconciliation for those affected by the tragic wounds of a devastating civil war.
  • Pray for effective methods for reaching troubled youth, many of whom have turned to gangs and violence.

  • Praise God for a successful surgery for Marilee Schut last week.  She is at home and doing well.
  • Praise God for those who feel great about who they are in Christ and what he is doing in their life!

  • Pray for those carrying a great amount of guilt from the past.  May they find forgiveness from Jesus.  May they be bold to forgive themselves too.
  • Pray for the new pastors in the area.  May God bless them, their families, and their ministry to God’s people.
  • Pray for those want to foment racial trouble instead of building peace through hard conversations.
  • Pray for students who begin school next week.  May this be a great year for them!
  • Pray for Bev Rhodes, Paula Blohm and others who are battling cancer.
  • Praise God for the quick sale of Greg and Sandy Hazelmyer home!
  • Pray for soldiers deployed around the globe.  May God keep them safely in his hands.

– Thank you for your prayers for my family and I during our vacation.  I am almost fully recovered from a great trip and back into the groove.
– Pray for Sandy Ring and Suzy Cerminaro who have Pink Eye.

– Praise God for those who feel great about who they are in Christ and what he is doing in their life!

Focus: Ecuador

  • This is a country which is dear to my heart due to getting to know so many of the good people there!  Pray for good things to come for them!

 

  • Pray for wise government leaders who are committed to justice and willing to address difficult social issues

 

  • Pray for a spiritual maturity in the church that roots out false teaching and embraces a heart for the less evangelized

 

  • Pray for effectively trained workers equipped for addressing both physical and spiritual poverty

Local Prayers:

  • Thank you for your prayers for my family and I during our vacation.  I am almost fully recovered from a great trip and back into the groove.
  • Kim Rhodes asks for prayers for Cathy Noom who had emergency open heart surger over the weekend.  She is doing better now.
  • Pray for Greg and Sandy Hazelmyer who are selling their home in North Muskegon to move to Lakeside.  May it be hassle-free.

Celebration Midweek – July 12

  1. WHIPPI DIP OUTING – The small group “Running With Scissors” is meeting at 5:30PM at the Whippi Dip on Pontaluna Road.  Bring all your stories from your summer adventures.  Hope to see you there!Image result for ice cream
  2. NURSERY TRAINING, July 23, 9:30AM – It is great to have so many kids in the nursery!  On Sunday, July 23, at 9:30AM, we will have church safety training and nursery orientation.  We will go over policies to keep kids safe as well as how we do this practically on Sundays.  Several have already signed up but other volunteers are welcome.
  3. PLAY TO LEARN CLASS RESUME, JULY 14, 10:00AM – This is our class with LoveINC which teaches parents to play and read with their children.  There is still room available in this class!  Contact Patty Lacy or Joy at LoveINC for more details (231) 777-3905.

Prayer Focus: The Czech Republic

  • Pray for a lifting of the spiritual heaviness that permeates a culture continuing to spiral downward into further darkness.
  • Pray for Czech youth to embrace fresh and creative expressions of Christian fellowship and discipleship.
  • Prayer for one million copies of a newly translated Czech Bible to be distributed among the Czech people.

  • Please pray for Eddie Anderson whose grandson Joel died in AZ on Monday.
  • Pray for Bill Essenberg at the passing of his mom last week.

  • Pray for the Motorbike Team in Balama Mozambique which is expanding to new areas.  They are reaching up to 3,000 children each day with the gospel!  Also, pray for the 2 temporary orphan houses which are both nearing completion.  They hope to move the 14 abandoned children into those 2 homes sometime in August.
  • “I bring a praise report of thanks to Jesus!”
  • “I made a commitment to turn my life around and follow Jesus Christ!”
  • Pray for Marilee Schut’s father who is in hospice care and “failing”.
  • Pray for our country, our president daily.  May God bring healing and civility in discussions.
  • Eddie Anderson wrote: “There aren’t enough words to express our appreciation for the outpouring of love, food, and prayers from all the wonderful people at Celebration.  Thank you and God bless every one!”
  • Roger and Sheri Doctor’s friend, Rosalie is having open heart surgery in a week.  May God give peace and healing to her and her husband Tony.
  • Pray for the 3 new pastors in the Classis Muskegon churches.  May God bless them, their families, and their congregations.
  • Pray for students and adult leaders at the Muskegon SERVE Project this week hosted at Calvin Church.  May God give them all a great week!
  • Pray for those affected by the high winds last week.  May God give patience.
  • Praise God for a great time with the youth group on Sunday night.  Thanks to Mike and Connie for their generous hosting of the event!

Celebration Midweek – July 5

1. SUMMER HOT DOG ROAST – You are invited to join us for our annual Summer Hot Dog Roast immediately following our 10:30AM worship service. The church will be providing the hot dogs, condiments, table service, and beverages. Plan on bringing a yummy salad or dessert to share!  Hope to see you there!

2. 5TH SUNDAY WORSHIP – We are planning to have the Oasis children worship with their parents on months which have a 5th Sunday.  This gives both teachers and children a break.  We will have “Busy Bags” available if your child needs them.  We will also have a special time for the children during the service.
